If you have a new phone and need to re-install the Microsoft Authenticator app, use the below steps. These steps also work for the first time you are setting up the Authenticator app!
- Open a web browser, preferably on your laptop but these steps will work on a mobile device
- Go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/?ref=MeControl
- On the left-hand side of the new page that opens, select My Account > "Security Info"
- In the page that opens, select "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now"
- Select "Text +X XXXXXXXX##"
- If the number does not match your phone number, reach out to Service Desk to get this fixed!

- Enter the Verification code that was texted to you and select Verify
- On the page that follows, select "Delete" next to the Authentication Methods listed with your Phone model, such as the "iPhone 14" listed below. Once you select Delete, you will be prompted to confirm with "OK"
- Once deleted, select "Add sign-in method" - highlighted in green below
- Select the drop-down menu, and Authenticator app. Then select Add
- On your mobile device, if you have not already, install the "Microsoft Authenticator" application. This can be found by searching "Microsoft Authenticator" in the App Store (on Apple) or Play Store (on Android). Be sure to install the app with the icon that matches the below picture of a white square, block lock, and a person inside of the lock.
- Once installed, open the application and select "Accept" on the privacy agreement if prompted. Followed by "Continue" when prompted to help improve Microsoft Authenticator.
- Select "Add work or school account" - DO NOT select "Sign in with Microsoft"
- Enter your email address, and Next
- This can be your @laddernow.com or @seek-now.com email alias, it does not matter which you use.
- Enter your password, and Next
- Select "I can't use my Microsoft Authenticator app right now"
- Select the option to Text the verification code again, and enter the code that is sent to your phone.
- Select "Scan QR code" when prompted
- Back on your PC, select "Next" on the page that states "Start by getting the app"
- Select "Next" On "Set up your account"

Scan the QR code that shows with your Microsoft Authenticator app
- Do not use the default camera app to scan this QR Code - it must be scanned through the Microsoft Authenticator app to work.
- If you receive an error that the code cannot scan, select "Can't scan image?" on your laptop, and "Or enter code manually" on your phone, then enter the information that is given

- Once scanned, your Microsoft Authenticator app is installed and complete! If you run into any issues, feel free to contact the Seek Now Service Desk for further assistance.
